With more than four decades of experience in the Accounting and Taxation Profession, Sam has worked with prominent accounting firms in both Melbourne and Albury.

As a founding member of The Auditors

Institute, he is deeply committed to establishing a unified voice dedicated exclusively to SMSF Auditors.

Sam's practice, "AlpineTAX," is located in Myrtleford, serving as the gateway to the breathtaking Alpine Snowfields—a perfect setting for his photography pursuits.

Graeme Colley is a well-known figure in the SMSF community with a long-standing reputation as an accomplished educator, technical expert and advocate for the sector.  He brings over 30 years of taxation and superannuation experience gained from senior positions in the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), as an Assistant Commissioner of the Insurance and Superannuation Commission and as a director, technical and professional standards at the SMSF Association.  Graeme's experience also extends to a number of leading fund managers and consultants, including Macquarie Bank, Mercer, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand, National Technical Manager at OnePath and as Executive Manager, Technical and Private Wealth at SuperConcepts. These roles have included formulating and implementing policy, developing legislation and providing high level technical advice.

David serves as a Director at Baumgartner Super, a dedicated SMSF audit firm, and has fervently dedicated more than two decades to the SMSF industry. He holds the esteemed designations of a CAANZ SMSF Specialist and a SMSF Association Specialist Auditor. In his advocacy efforts, he has represented the National Tax and Accountants' Association within the SMSF Auditors Professional Association Stakeholder Group.

David eagerly embraces the opportunity to persist in advocating for the welfare of SMSF auditors as a board member of the Auditors Institute.

As a vital member of a fast-expanding nonprofit organization, Awan operates within the framework of a volunteer Board of Directors to ensure that Auditors Institute members receive comprehensive support right from the outset of their membership.

​

His responsibilities include orchestrating collaboration with SMSF industry professionals to maintain a consistent schedule of webinars for Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Additionally, Awan is committed to ensuring the efficient operation of the Forum and the coordination of the annual Auditors Institute Conference.

Awan, a devoted family man and a passionate car enthusiast, takes pleasure in his culinary pursuits during his leisure time. His dedication is centered on ensuring that the diverse needs of the organization's members are consistently fulfilled.

Steven is a Senior Equity Partner at PKF South Australia, holding the position for a decade. He's also involved in multiple local businesses in Adelaide's CBD. With over 27 years of experience, Steven offers audit, risk, and technical advisory services, including independent accountant and forensic expert reports. He's known for his proficiency in audit and risk advisory, often consulting with major national and international organizations on complex issues. As an expert witness, he's testified on audit, accounting, and legal matters in South Australian courts and the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC). He's actively contributed to professional development sessions and worked with diverse entities, including government bodies, multinational subsidiaries, listed companies, nonprofits, cooperatives, and SMSFs.

After her cadetship with Coopers & Lybrand, Lina nurtured a passion for small business and empowering women in financial literacy and business management. She has consistently advocated for gender equality in the workplace.

Subsequently, as a Senior Partner at a private firm, Lina went on to establish Ademus Business Solutions.

In 2005, Ron revolutionized the approach to conducting superannuation audits. His strong belief in the power of technology drove him to spearhead the creation of a comprehensive, automated, and integrated super audit platform. This platform guarantees top-notch, cost-effective, and efficient superannuation audits.

Currently, he serves as the CEO of Evolv, a prominent SMSF audit enterprise in Australia.

Gino boasts nearly four decades of experience as a certified Accountant and Tax Agent, with a decade dedicated to serving as an SMSF Auditor.

​

As one of the founding members of The Auditors Institute, the organization was established to offer cohesive representation in a profession growing in litigation risk. It also provides valuable guidance, training, and support through forums, webinars, and seminars in collaboration with the regulator.

​

After an extensive career in the banking sector, Gino transitioned into Public Practice in 2000. Operating from his business in Wetherill Park, he adopts a personalized approach to assist small to medium-sized businesses and a diverse portfolio of SMSF clients.

Brian, a seasoned and versatile professional with expertise in accounting, tax agency, and SMSF auditing, has dedicated over 45 years to the finance industry.

​

Originally joining SMSF AAA for the CPD points it offered, he now perceives The Auditors Institute as an essential advocate for the community of SMSF auditors.

​

While he is widely acknowledged for his proficiency and reliability as an accountant and advisor, in his leisure hours, Brian passionately pursues Egyptology, even achieving a Masters in Egyptology from Macquarie University.
