Death benefits are an inevitable conclusion to most SMSF member benefits and ultimately they come in one of two forms, an income stream and or a lump sum withdrawal.  However, the decision confronting trustees when paying out a death benefit can be complicated by the death of one trustee, insufficient documentation, conflicting documentation as well a potential beneficiaries.
